Thank you for your interest in volunteering for VBS! God has been amazing and we have all position filled!
If you'd like to help decorate, we'll be at the church June 10th, 11th and 12th starting at 9am!
We look forward to working with you next year!

VBS is June 17th through the 21st. We ask our volunteers to arrive no later than 8:30am and they are expected to stay until about 12:45 or 1pm. Breakfast is provided starting at 8am.

Anyone entering 6th grade and above can volunteer. We do ask that volunteers under the age of 18 have a release form signed by their parents. This is available to print HERE.

We do require all our volunteers to attend a training. The dates for the training are TBD. ALL volunteers (including those under 18, are asked to attend.)

When you sign up, you will be asked where you will like to serve in VBS. This year's positions are a bit different from in the years past. Please take a moment to look at the position names and descriptions below. Please be aware that these positions are first come, first serve basis and are not promised.

Tribe Leader

The Tribe Leader will lead a small group of about 5 elementary age kids. They will attend a training meeting and get ready to become a visitor in Bible times Nazareth! You will have a Hometown Huddle Leader Manual that will have the day's Bible story, bye verse and Bible point for you to review with your tribe each day. Participate with your Tribe at Celebration opening and closing, play at Fun & Games, talk with shopkeepers in the Marketplace, and visit Mary's House.

Each day as Tribes enter the Marketplace, you'll welcome a different group of kids and adults to the Bead Bazaar. You'll help your "apprentices" make their own custom beads to string onto lacing as a necklace, bracelet, or anklet.

You can use the provided historical background to shape your character and understand what kinds of jewelry people made and wore in ancient Nazareth. An important part of your job is to talk with participants at your shop about Jesus, who grew up right here in Nazareth!

Each day as Tribes enter the Marketplace, you'll welcome a different groups of kids and adults into the Carpentry shop. You will help your "apprentices" make a fun wooden sheep toy.

You can use the provided historical background to shape your character and understand what it was like to be a carpenter and understand what it was like to be a carpenter or builder in ancient Nazareth. An important part of your job is to talk with participants at your shop about Jesus, who grew up right here in Nazareth!

Each day as Tribes enter the Marketplace, you'll welcome a different groups of kids and adults into the Farmer's Field. You will help your "farmhands" plant seeds in a little peat pots or terra-cotta containers.

You can use the provided historical background to shape your character and understand the importance of farming and what types of things people grew in Nazareth. An important part of your job is to talk with participants at your shop about Jesus, who grew up right here in Nazareth!

Each day as Tribes enter the Marketplace, you'll welcome a different groups of kids and adults into the Olive Oil Shop. You will help your "apprentices" make a container of olive oil hand scrub.

You can use the provided historical background to shape your character and understand the importance of olive oil in Bible times.An important part of your job is to talk with participants at your shop about Jesus, who grew up right here in Nazareth!

Each day as Tribes enter the Marketplace, you'll welcome a different group of kids and adults to the Synagogue School. You'll guide your "students" in making a Tzedakah Box.

You can use the provided historical background to shape your character and understand how kids were educated in their faith at the time Jesus was a child. An important part of your job is to talk with participants at your school about Jesus, who grew up right here in Nazareth!

Each day as Tribes enter the Marketplace, you'll welcome kids and adults to the Barnyard to visit farm animals and pets.

You can use the provided historical background to shape your character and understand that people in Nazareth kept plenty of animals for food, hides and wool, or even as pets. An important part of your job is to talk with participants at your shop about Jesus.

Each day as Tribes enter the Marketplace, you'll welcome a different groups of kids and adults into the Rock Quarry. You will help your "apprentices" make stone necklaces.

You can use the provided historical background to shape your character and understand the importance of quarrying and use of the unique "Jerusalem stone" in ancient Nazareth. An important part of your job is to talk with participants at your shop about Jesus, who grew up right here in Nazareth!
